Total Time = 1h 17m 19s
Overall Rank = 81/1000
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 16/94
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 3:30 and ate a bowl of oatmeal with peanut butter, drank 20 oz of water and drove to the race sight. Arrived at transition at 5am and saw that my transition area was one of the few in grass (allergic to fire ants), so I went back to the car and got some bug spray ad treated my area. No issues with fire ants in t1 or t2.
Event warmup:

Took a short swim 15 minutes prior to race start.
Swim
  • 12m 7s
  • 547 yards
  • 02m 13s / 100 yards
Comments:

Still undertrained for the swim. Completed the swim easily and with out much effort but swim was slow. Swim was also my most physical swim. Actually got pushed under once and got bumped into a bunch.
What would you do differently?:

Transition 1
  • 01m 20s
Comments:

Time is just and estimate. Results had T1 combined with bike. T2 was 1:23 so I just gave myself a fast T1 and went with a conservative bike split.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 35m 34s
  • 14 miles
  • 23.62 mile/hr
Comments:

This ride went as close to perfect as possible. Spun up to speed and kept my cadance high. The course was very fast and only got pasted once on the bike. Rode based on perceived effort and think I hit my effort almost perfect. (if T1 wouldn't have been included would have been ranked 8 in AG)
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Transition 2
  • 01m 23s
Comments:

t2 went very smooth
What would you do differently?:

t2 was smooth but could have been a bit faster
Run
  • 26m 54s
  • 3.5 miles
  • 07m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

Run started off pretty slow. Calves felt a bit tight after the bike but loosened up and I fell into a nice pace. This was the first run were I felt in control for the entire run. Overall I was very pleased with the run. Realized it was my fastest run split (not counting the DU), and it came in August so I was very pleased.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
Warm down:

drank a lot and ate some pizza.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of swim training.

Event comments:

Overall a very good (great) race. Aaron and Ben did a great job. Last year the race good, and this year it was even better. The RD really seems to be taking feedback seriously and every race seems to be improving.
