Swim
Comments: I have only been swimming for 5 weeks (not counting clowning around in the pool as a kid.) First open water swim without a wetsuit. First ever with other people. I'm very happy considering everything. I swim very crooked. First I'd notice that everyone was way to my left, so I'd alter to go straight. Then I"d notice that everyone was way to my right. Oops. Need to practice swimming straight and sighting more frequently. What would you do differently?: I guess just sight more often to go straight. Need to work on my swimming technique. Transition 1
Comments: I have never tried to transition with my shoes attached to my pedals and did not here. Overall it was OK. I didn't run out cause my achillies tendom had been sore. Bike

Comments: My achillies was a giant limiting factor here. I didnt' try and run hard and followed up that soft "run" by putting walking every 3 minutes or so for a minute. What would you do differently?: I wouldn't have changed a thing. I left the race with an achillies that is no worse than when I started. It is currently tender to the squeeze and not nearly as much as it was 2 weeks ago Post race
Warm down: none What limited your ability to perform faster: Achillies Event comments: THis race had UNBELIEVABLE organization. The start of the day I was looking at the schedule. It said stuff like 7:40 something 7:42 something else (real stuff here) for the entire day. They somehow managed to keep this schedule. It was awesome!!! Last updated: 2010-08-09 12:00 AM
