Swim
Comments: felt really good, but obviously a short swim since the time includes a long run up the beach across the boardwalk, and across the road to the transition. Transition 1
Comments: good, but still slower than most of the top-10. may need to work on this. Bike
Comments: pushed the whole bike and felt good. i was passed by a few and passed a few, but for the most part i just held my ground from the swim. course was advertised as 15 miles, but it was ~13.9 according to k's computer. Transition 2
Comments: better than t1. Run
Comments: felt great on the run. passed 2 runners on the first section and then was hunting down the 3rd. no hip pain the entire run (just a small side stitch). the course was advertised as 3.5 miles, but was really under 3mi. if i had that extra distance, i would probably have caught another runner or two. still happy with it. Post race
Warm down: said hello to karen and then went for a cool-down jog to cheer on k and the other runners. then i ate several awesome breakfast burritos and waited for awards. Event comments: this is a nice little local sprint. they fixed the issues with no one manning the intersections on the bike, so it was much safer. they also have great breakfast burritos and it's pretty reasonably priced. they still need to work on getting the distances and chips accurate, fixing some potholes in the road, and better security in transition. Drove to the start w/k from karen/mike's. i had an english muffin w/ pb on the way, and then we racked our stuff and met up with karen to wait for the start
i went for a 12' run to the end of the boardwalk and back to loosen up.
