Comments: Never felt like I had fresh legs, never felt effortless, but knew I was pretty strong so just tried to push my pace a little, felt pretty tolerable until about the last 2 miles, last mile I was suffering, last 1/2 mile was really tough, felt like I couldn't get any air, almost like I was hyperventilating What would you do differently?: I think I didn't get enough rest in the last week, probably should have taken another day off, also, I skipped lunch on Saturday, probably not a good idea. Post race
Warm down: Felt really light headed at the end, had to lay down before I got any water or my medal. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough rest the week before. Event comments: I know I can do better. I took around 3 minutes off my time from last year, but feel that I can do better on this course. I just didn't have the legs I needed on race day. Got up at 5:15, ate a bagel with peanut butter, drank a couple of cups of coffee, drove to the Shuttle pickup at the Gravel Pit
Stood in the porta potty lines a couple of times, and just hung out waiting for the race to start, did a little stretching
