Pre-race routine:

Stretch, standard porta-pot trip, and some Bio-Freeze on the left IT Band.
Run
  • 2h 42m 58s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 12m 26s  min/mile
Comments:

I tried to go easy on the pace due to still suffering from IT Band issues from running the Shamrock, 3 weeks ago. Ran the first half in 1h 01m and felt pretty good. Left IT band was reminding me that it was there and the right IT band was starting to hurt, but every thing was good. Mile 10 the right side would no longer allow me to run, so I walked and enjoyed the scenery. The hills were rough adn the right IT band was screamin but it was a blast.
What would you do differently?:

Let my injuries heal from the previous rae...
Post race
Warm down:

Stretch, bannana, Bio-freeze, and a beer.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

IT band tightness on both sides and pain on the right.

Event comments:

This race was a blast and the volunteers were great. I look forward to doing this race again next year. The only complaint is that the EXPO was disappointing and really had to much stuff for such a small space.. Would have spent some money if I could have gotten to anything.

Course: The course was very scenic and well marked. The last 3 miles are hilly and beautiful. The final 2 miles through the woods was insane... Loved it and will do it again next year.
