Swim
Comments: First swim in wetsuit. So it was a bit of an adventure. My swim training has been hit and miss so I used some active recovery with some back stroke. What would you do differently?: Need to train consistently. I had just done this swim 3 weeks ago so I knew I would finish. I think the wetsuit made a difference in the time. Transition 1
Comments: AAAGGGGHHHHHH. I completely forgot that my 12 year old had borrowed my helmet a few days ago. So when I went to put it on, it didn't fit! I was really pleased with wetsuit removal, got feet dry glasses on, and then the helmet. Struggled with getting it let out enough to fit, was still a bit tight when I gave up, clipped it on and took off. What would you do differently?: CHECK MY EQUIPMENT!!!! This was totally my fault and completely wasted time. bummer!! Bike
Comments: I still feel like I could have gone harder. Hills aren't that bad, except the climb back into the park. Not steep but long. What would you do differently?: Need to train hills more. Transition 2
Comments: Took a bit of extra time to make sure socks weren't lumpy. Grabbed a couple of gummy gels on my way out and ran with a bottle. Had to pee! I really wanted to stop but I didn't. What would you do differently?: Not step on my good sunglasses...ugh Run
Comments: Wasn't too bad. I was able to keep up a fairly good pace on the hills, for me. Thanked the volunteers. Felt WAY better on this than I did the last time. Temp was good though it still was hot on the trail portion. Went by pretty quickly all and all. Did get small blister on my right arch, same spot as last time. I don't know what the deal is exactly. Will need to figure this one out. Ran from where the grass started through the finish. What would you do differently?: Be thinner and run more? I felt pretty good about my effort overall. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, went down to lake and got in. What limited your ability to perform faster: My gigantic behind? Seriously I think being lighter would make this so much easier. Training more consistently too. Event comments: Still had food available even when I finished. Lots of volunteers with smiles on their faces. Gal on the next rack tipped it and knocked over a bunch of bikes on her way into T2. Volunteers ran over to pick up bikes so she could head out on run. Everyone friendly and supportive. Good race overall and WAAAAAY better this year because temp in the 60-70's. LOVED that. Last updated: 2010-08-16 12:00 AM

Up and showered. Had a cliff bar and water on the way to race. Got to race in plenty of time. Picked up my packet and goodie bag. Racked my bike and setup my stuff. Visited the restroom and chatted a bit. Met THE Slow Fat Triathlete, Jayne. Nice lady..that was cool.
After getting wetsuit on, got in water and swam 100? yards or so. Felt pretty good. Weird wearing wetsuit. First time in water with it.
