What would you do differently?: I felt great. I took it way too conservatively. Would go much harder next time. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Nerves during the swim. Did pretty good on the bike. More training. Too conservative on run - need to really bust it for 3.1 miles. I could have probably done a 23 - 24 min 5k, maybe a bit quicker. I started slow to conserve energy, and kept it slow. Definitely need to develop a relaxing technique before the race. Event comments: My first ever triathlon. I'll definitely do better at the sprint distance next time around. Very well organized, very good instructions from Racine MultiSports. Coffee, nervous energy, 1 hour drive at 3:30am to Cascade.
10 min jog in parking lot, very slow. Lots of movement, chilly at swim start for me, but the weather overall was great.
