Comments:

Did not like how they ran the swim. They did a lottery draw with age groups and used that as the starting sequence instead of seeding by swim times. Caused a lot of traffic jams in the water. Had to breast stoke for about 20 meters until I could find a hole to slip through.

Think I am going to save up for some clip shoes.

This was a fairly challenging bike course. Lots and Lots of rollers an a few good hard climbs. Also, one section of downhill that was crazy fast and fun. Topped at 41.1 without much peddling.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe push a little more on the downhills. Tried to coast a little to save the legs for the run.

Transition went well. Jumped off bike early so I would not have to ride up the hill into the parking lot. Too steep.
What would you do differently?:

Put a cheap water bottle to throw as I am running through and out of transition.

Run felt good. I think I could have gone faster. Had a lot left in the tank after the race.
What would you do differently?:

Push myself harder throughout the run. I am pretty sure I could have done 8:00 or less average if I would have pushed myself.

Event comments:

Awards were not accurate. Race day results had me finishing 5th in age group but the posted results had me in 3rd in age group so someone else was given the award I should have received.
First year for the race and I hope I can make it back next year.
