Comments: Didn't expect the hills, started out strong, on pace. Slowed a little after 5 miles or so, was okay with that. Felt dead at mile 10, very slow last 5k. What would you do differently?: Not sure. This was just a tune-up style race for my Oct. marathon, and I didn't decide to run it till 20 hours before race time. Post race
Warm down: walked a mile back to my car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Hills, heat, uping my training too fast. Event comments: Hilly course, nice number of participants. Starts on mostly residential roads and the last 10 or so are on bike/walking paths followning a river and lake, up to the road, and back down to the river under bridges the entire time. About one mile easy, took some water and a gel about 30 minutes prior to race, stomach got a little nervous.
