Total Time = 1h 41m 14s
Overall Rank = 399/
Age Group = 35-44
Age Group Rank = 40/46
Pre-race routine:

Stayed at a hotel the night before thinking that by finding a place to stay a little closer would be better for me in morning. I did it mainly to reduce the distance I had to drive in the morning and to allow for more sleep. Did hot work out, kids were not helping and did not get to bed until 11 pm. The room was to hot with out the moisture sucking air conditioner on. All in all a bad noghts sleep and still was up by 6.
Event warmup:

Stretched, Ate Susage McMuffin, Coffee and banana. Chilled.
Swim
  • 19m 19s
  • 800 yards
  • 02m 25s / 100 yards
Comments:

I had a hard time catching my breath for some reason. The water was not cold so that should not have been a factor. The lack of comfort with breathing caused me to pull up and breast stroke and really slowed me down.
What would you do differently?:

Work out a little before race to get the breathing parts working and ready to go.
Transition 1
  • 04m 24s
Comments:

Run over knoll was fine, no factor.I was not in any hurry to change and lost postioning because of it.
What would you do differently?:

Go fast and remember that the time lost in T1 was the difference in 4 positions.
Bike
  • 43m 10s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 17.24 mile/hr
Comments:

Nice bike route. I lttle rough on the wheels and wrists.
What would you do differently?:

I should have pushed a little harder on the first lap especially on the canal road. However I felt great through the bike, way better than I though I would.
Transition 2
  • 01m 48s
Comments:

Thought I did better in T2 than I did.
What would you do differently?:

Jump off bike, and run hard to rack. Stand on heel as lifting bike.
Run
  • 32m 34s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 31s  min/mile
Comments:

This sucked. I was not mentaly preped for the uphill grind of the run. It sapped my will and I ended up walking 5 times during the run. I knew that I was tired but I should have had more in the brain tank. Also my bladder was killing me and causing a lot of cramping in my lower belly.
What would you do differently?:

Pee in the pool!!!! The minute I got on the bike I know that I was in for trouble with my bladder. Train for better running speed and mental toughness.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretch, walked water,

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Swim was very bad for what I can do. I need to get the breath going before I get in the water. Bike went great no complaints. In the run my bladder was kiling me, Pee!!

Event comments:

I did as well as I had expected and better on the bike that expected. The is a good early race, well run and fun.

Course: All raod 2 laps and a little technical. You had to climb out of T1 and there was a nastly little hill at about 1.5 mile very steep right after a turn so it was hard to carry speed into it. Long canal stretch was not a down as it had seemed and the wind was quartering on the right. Down at the farm road and up at first on 300 S coming into too T area. Great downhill right at the enterance of T area.
