Swim
Comments: First tri that I've done with a full 800 meter swim. Boy, did those buoys seem like they were a long way down that lake! Ended up in the back of the pack and kept running into a couple other swimmers, didn't really get to draft anyone. Was pleased with my swim time because I beat my goal. What would you do differently?: Position myself not quite to the back of the pack at the start. Transition 1
Comments: Better transition this race, I remembered to pull my arms out of my wetsuit on the way to transition this time! What would you do differently?: Keep practicing T-1 Bike
Comments: Got halfway up the little steep hill on the course, watched two women get halfway up and one dropped her chain, and one just stopped and got off her bike. I chickened out, was afraid to shift again, called out to the rider behind me that I had to turn out and went back to the bottom of the hill. Crap! Was afraid that I couldn't stand in my bike shoes on the hill, so I stopped on the grass verge at the side of the road, ran my bike up, got back on and got going again. Plan to go back and conquer that hill! Other than that my bike time was good. What would you do differently?: Train better Transition 2
Comments: Feet felt numb when running into transition but I just kept my steps small. Found my rack place and everything went pretty smooth. What would you do differently?: Get different shoe ties! Run
Comments: Nice run course, very pretty trail through the woods. I felt tired by the run, more mental than physical as usual. Should have pushed harder. What would you do differently?: I don't run enough hills, mostly flats, need to do more hills. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, tried some gatorade post race and I think that it helped--minimized foot cramps later in the day. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training! Event comments: I thought that this was a very well organized race, especially for a first year event. The post race breakfast was very nice and I really liked that it benefitted a charity. I would love to do this race again next year. My favorite part was the bike course, very fun. Last updated: 2010-08-31 12:00 AM

Got up early so that I could have my 1/2 wheat English muffin with almond butter and 1 cup of coffee and leave early to get a parking place. Yay! Got a good parking place and an end spot in the rack.
Every race this year I have put my wetsuit on backwards first! Nerves, I guess. Didn't run, spent time in the water warming up before the swim.
