Age Group Rank = 1/11
Pre-race routine:

Woke up @ 4:30am, had eggos for breakfast (lol, I know, not ideal), did breathing treatments, etc. and headed to the race to set up my bike and transition area.
Event warmup:

Stood about ankle deep in the water and decided against doing a warm up...just hung out w/ family/friends until the race started.
Swim
  • 26m 10s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 36s / 100 yards
Comments:

Felt great during the swim...some girl elbowed me towards the end, which filled my goggles with water, tore my contact & cut my eye...nice. Also, there was a step coming out of the water that the volunteers tried to warn me about; I didn't realize what they were talking about until after I slammed my shin in to the concrete step - it was nice and bloody/bruised.
What would you do differently?:

Not get elbowed in the eye :)
Transition 1
  • 01m 22s
Comments:

Good transition...didn't feel dizzy like my last Olympic distance tri, so that was good. Saw my mom as I was exiting T1 and informed her that I will probably have a black eye when I finish...haha
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Bike
  • 1h 21m 24s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 18.32 mile/hr
Comments:

Flat...and very boring. Not all of the intersections were not marked off/monitered by police, so cars kept trying to get into the bike lane...yikes. Felt pretty crappy on the bike, but not terrible
What would you do differently?:

Not sure...was so spread out I had no one to pace off of/push me, and I just kinda zoned out...I guess stay focused and probably not drink as much
Transition 2
  • 01m 13s
Comments:

Good T2; a girl in front of me stopped running w/ her bike and I almost ran her over b/c I was running with mine...oops. Also, at the dismount line, 2 guys could not get off their bikes fast enough and fell into each other right in front of me - glad I avoided that mess.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 52m 15s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 25s  min/mile
Comments:

Suprised myself...after my last Olympic performance (10:26 min mile), I was hoping for under 10 min mile...at mile 1 I looked at my watch to see a 7:40 pace. Just kept going, and was thrilled with my pace
What would you do differently?:

absolutely nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Water & pizza :)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

need more training on the bike

Event comments:

Not very well organized
