Comments:

Very, very cold morning in Central Indiana. Mile 1 was probably too fast but it was my first race in awhile. Mile 4 was brutal as it was against the wind. Most of Mile 5 was against the wind as well. Could not breath very well, couldn't drink during the run and couldn't spit as it was sooooo cold. Considering that I had a long week and had jet lag it was a very good effort.
What would you do differently?:

Warm-up by running around the Memorial several more times. Try to get water in me at mile 2 or 3.
Post race
Warm down:

Didn't really warm down, as I felt a little dizzy and went inside the War Memorial and ate sphagetti. Ran to the car which was the worst part of the race.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The cold but it limited everyone.

Event comments:

Good race and organization. At one of the water stops there was spilt water that froze and cause me to slip. I later found out that a buddy slipped and fell at the water stop but other than that the race was a good one.
