Run
Comments: The race itself was fun for being the first race of the year. i tried to run without stopping during this race but unfortunatly the footing was so abd that walking was easier and safer. I didn't feel out of shape but my calves were burning a bit. I did find myself walking probably 3 mins of my total time racing. the run was fun and the volunteers were freezing there butts off for us. What would you do differently?: I would wear runners crampons and really decide if walking would save more energy and be faster than try to continue running on a pride basis. Post race
Warm down: When i finish races, I never feel like eating..regardless of the race. It actually makes me thinking about it. I did have 2 banana and alot of water. I did get a bit of streching at the end. Plus the race finish was a half mile away from where the race started. So I continued on and ran the last .5 mile to prove that I still could do it. What limited your ability to perform faster: Take 2 month off in Nov and Dec of last year....haha. Mainly I think the weather had a big effect on my performance and not running hills as much. Event comments: Great 1st race of the season. It should prepare me for my 10 miler at the end of the month:) Hopefully..haha Last updated: 2006-02-13 12:00 AM

I got up early to strech and get bundle for a snow winter run. I drove a hour to the race site. Grabbed a Gatorade and Water before registering. They had closed registration early but I got my name in for approval to register the day of the event. I registered, stretched and tried to keep warm in my car.
Stretch, iceyhot my legs, 2 asprin, drank lots of water, and some gatorde. The reason for the Icyhot is bc I had problem with shin splint earlier this week and it was just a extra precaution even though my shins weren't really hurting me that morning
