Swim
Comments: I was cruising pretty good when I started swimming; passing many women along the way and regreted being so far back in the pack because I didn't want to get in the way of faster swimmers. But I also didn't want to run people over. What would you do differently?: Start more center of the group and on the outside. Transition 1
Comments: Thank goodness for the volunteers seeking out to help people with their wetsuits. Though I had practiced previously I still managed to get stuck in my suit. There was an almost half mile distance from the swim to the bike transition area so that adds a bit to the time. What would you do differently?: More goo for my skin to get the suit off and jog more to the transition area. I kept losing my breath. Glad I had my shoes at the lake so I didn't have to run barefooted to the bike transition area. Bike
What would you do differently?: Train for hills much more! Start lifting more weights Transition 2
Comments: I don't have bike shoes yet so I ride in my running shoes. Run
Comments: At first the hill was kinda tough for me. I held back and wanted to sprint near the end but was at the end before I knew it. Could have pushed myself much more in the run. Saving it for...I don't know what. On the last mile met up with someone and we ran together as we both were trying to keep up with eachother. Nice in the end to have someone to jog with as I might have let my mind wander and focus on being tired. What would you do differently?: Just do it! Just run Post race
Warm down: Walked. I was not too tired or exhausted after the race which lets me know I could have done much more. What limited your ability to perform faster: My mind Event comments: Had a great time and the volunteers were fantastic...can't wait until next year! Last updated: 2010-09-06 12:00 AM

Had oatmeal and bran muffin for breakfast, stretched and tried to just take in the moment. Made sure my transition set up was just right and set to go.
Walked down to the beach from the event center and did some light jogging...mainly to keep warm. My feet were frozen before I even got into the water.
