Pre-race routine:

Early rise, bowl of frosted flakes, hour drive, set up and wait.
Event warmup:

Exactly that, warm up. There was frost on the ground. Jump around, stand in very shallow water to keep feet warm.

Freezing cold at first, dripping from the pool, one really rough spot on the first lap made the bike act funny. I was passed a good bit, espacially after the bump, but it was nessacary to conserve energy for the run.

Avoid the rough spots better.

I hate running, definately after swimming and biking. Slow to say the least but consistant.

Warm down:

Finish line banana and water. Walked around, sat in shade, talked to wife.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The run, for sure. Pushed a little too hard in the swim but not sure it it hinderd or helped. Transitions were fast, but could have been faster.

Event comments:

Good race for a true beginner. Not very long, over pretty quick, but a good length for the true beginner just starting out in the triathlon sport.
