Comments: Started out too fast, felt good thru mile 1, slowed down a bit on mile 2 (walked water stations). About 1/4 mile into mile 3, had to slow down pretty good, ended up having to walk a bit at about 2.5, picked back up again at 2.75 and ran it in w/ a good pace. What would you do differently?: Not go out as fast, my splits should be opposite of what I ran. Felt too good in the first mile, tried to keep it up and didn't work. Still a PR, but after the 1st mile, was hoping to break 29:00, which I probably would have done if I didn't blow up on mile 3. Post race
Warm down: water, walked around, stretch. What limited your ability to perform faster: Went out too fast. Needed to negative split, but did the opposite. Event comments: Overall, good race. Was a bit unorganized at the start and finish. Course doubled back for a short period, and the front racers were running into the mid pack folks (which is where I was located). Ran 1/2 mile to warm up, stretch, was ready to go.
