Comments: Had to remove gloves at mile 8 What would you do differently?: Went out too fast. 8:15 pace for first 4-5 until the hills and closer to 9/mi in last 2. Disappointing finish. Should have gone out a little slower. Post race
Warm down: Static stretching right after the race, recovery drink on the drive home, ice about 1 hour after the race (20 min each for left hip, outside of knee, and ankle). Quadballer for about 10 minutes 5 hours after the race and some more light stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Outside at left knee had sharp pains for a few minutes at miles 2, 5, and 9. Its been tender this week and flared up during the race. I think it is a tight ITB. A week or two of rest with light cross training will probably do the trick. Event comments: This was my first half so I don't have much basis for comparison but it seemed very well organized and was a nice course. The only criticism I have was for the cop who held us up for 30+ seconds to let traffic cross at mile 7-8. Last updated: 2010-09-13 12:00 AM
