Comments: 2008 Time: 2:43.09 2009 Time: 2:43.44 2010 Time: 2:43.49 2011 Time: 2:55.07** Goal Time: 2.43.30 What would you do differently?: Well where do I start? 1st split: 45.23 @ 29.7 km/hr My RH aero bar came loose, 5km into the ride. Bugger, suck it up and keep going! Great start into the wind, held pace well. Had planned to smash it coming back. 2nd split: 40.30 @ 33.3 km/hr Rear drink bottle holder bolts sheared off, sending my crap skidding down the road after first hitting my rear carbon wheel. I stopped, picked up all of my shit, including the small saddle part. I then checked my wheel for any damage and swapped my tool kit and drink bottle around. I then took off down the road carrying my crap on my aero bars which was made all the more difficult seeing how my RH side was already loose. I then managed to drop the water bottle after the lap. Yeah great! New bottle too! 3rd split: 49.20 @ 27.4 km/hr Still carrying my crap, I got to the aid station where I was busting for a piss so figured what the hell, may as well stop for a bit. One of the aid station volunteers took my saddle drink holder and said she would return it for me (still looking for it). 4th split: 40.54 @ 33.0 km/hr Figured no point pushing too hard, save it for the run. Overall, not a great time, figure I could have gone at least under 2:40.00. Oh well, next year. Transition 2

Warm down: Gentle 1km ride back to house, a few JD's and some sleep. What limited your ability to perform faster: "If you do what you have always done, you'll get what you've always got!" Nothing could be truer for my training, non-consistent at best. Time for a fresh approach next season with lots of positive attitude!
