Comments: This was the part of the race I had been stressing about, swimming is not my strong sport, but the water felt nice and I just did my best and it wasn't so bad. What would you do differently?: More swim practice, learn how to use my legs more, I used only my arm strength through most of the swim. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Skipped socks, sunglasses kept fogging up so I left them in transition What would you do differently?: Wiped my face with towel first so sunglasses won't fog up ![]() Bike
Comments: Felt good on the bike, I don't have a bike computer so I had no idea where I was on the course or how long I had to go, had I had this info,I could have pushed harder on the bike. What would you do differently?: Get a bike computer. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Took a little longer since I put socks on. What would you do differently?: Buy racing shoes that don't require socks. ![]() Run
Comments: Good run, my strong sport, I was happy to be running. What would you do differently?: Nothing,I was happy with my time. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Congratulated other racers, chatted with some new friends, had some food. What limited your ability to perform faster: I'm new to the sport,so only have been training 2 months. Before the past 2 months, all I did was lift weights and run. Event comments: This was my first tri, and I had a blast! That was so much more fun than I imagined it would be. The people were awesome, great atmosphere. I'm hooked and can't wait for the next one! Last updated: 2010-09-16 12:00 AM

This was my triathlon debut after losing 136 pounds in the past 10 months, was tossing and turning all night. Woke up at 3 am, had some coffee, and a piece of toast with some peanut butter on it.Had an hour drive to race site, made it there at 5:30 am for body marking.Ate a pack of sport beans 30 minutes before race started.
A fairly long walk from body marking to transition area with my bike and my gear, and some stretching of course
