Swim
Comments: Obviously need to swim more. Not sure how valid this effort was given the temps What would you do differently?: train more Transition 1
Comments: Came out of the pool ok, but began cooling down quickly, shaking..concentrated on getting my jersey and shirt on and on the road What would you do differently?: Dunno...my first time Bike
Comments: Couldn't shift into lower gears on the first lap. Relied on either pulling the cable for the rear derailleur or switching between big/small ring. On the second lap I could coax my shifter back online What would you do differently?: get that $%# shifter fixed. Not a bad ride overall, but slower than I wanted. I think with no mechanical s i get a higher speed Transition 2
Comments: Not bad t-2. It is a long one. Challenging though, hadnt bricked enough What would you do differently?: brick more Run
Comments: Missed a turn, or made a wrong urn. It wasn't clear to me, there was an arrow sign but appeared to be 2 possibilities. Some volunteers down the street pointed one way...later a little pregnant girl chased me..and caught up with me lol, redirected me What would you do differently?: brick more and pay attention, maybe pre scout the course if possible. I never saw a run map though Post race
Warm down: get some freaking clothes on! What limited your ability to perform faster: the cold and I never really targeted this race. It was an impulse but glad to get the first one done! Event comments: The pre race material stated the swim would start in number order. This lasted for the first 50 then it was first come first serve..a little chaotic. I would like to have been in the water sooner instead of milling around waiting for my number. The pregnant girl said the volunteer at the corner I missed had moved or something. That cost me a couple of minutes at least. Having the pre race meeting out side, in 30 degree weather with everybody dressed to swim was torture. I never heard the meeting. have it in the gym.
