Age Group Rank = 9/30
Pre-race routine:

Nothing special; peanut butter sandwich, and orange juice.
Event warmup:

I ran a little bit to the bathroom. LOL
Swim
  • 01m 35s
  • 880 yards
  • 11s / 100 yards
Comments:

Everybody ran a fast non killer pace, like we were running but at the same time, we were all together within the same pack.
Transition 1
  • 01m 24s
Comments:

WTF, how did this happen?

took running shoes off, put biking shoes on, then helmet and I got out there. I am guessing that the line to get out transition slow me down more than I was expecting.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really, it is nothing that you can do when 50 guys try to get out transition at the same time.
Bike
  • 48m 2s
  • 16.1 miles
  • 20.11 mile/hr
Comments:

It was windy and I haven't train under those types of conditions so I didn't want to go crazy on the bike and risk a crash. Also, it seems that finally all these races and training put a dent on my body, because I just can get my body back to normal; I felt like everything hurts today but the funny thing that my right knee (has been bogging me for awhile) didn't hurt at all, so go figure.

Overall a average bike, on a rough road surface.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe next year I can go and train around that area.
Transition 2
  • 01m 14s
Comments:

Nothing, I think it as a perfect transition.
What would you do differently?:

Move faster
Run
  • 21m 1s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 06m 47s  min/mile
Comments:

Well, I wasn't really looking forward to the run because I haven't trained my run the right way in awhile, so I was expecting a worst number than this.

Started off a little bit slow, but I was able to pick up the pace fairly quick. I felt like a was moving at a good speed for the most part, but at some point two guys from my age group passed me, and even thought that I tried to stay with them, I couldn't...

At the end of the run I was pretty happy with myself, and my knee!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really, this was a great number for my run fitness.
Post race
Warm down:

walk around

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The road surface on the bike, and the winds.

Event comments:

I really like the organization for this race, but I hope the change/fix the road surface for the bike portion.
