Pre-race routine:

Ate an egg biscuit and walked around and talked to people, just used the swim as a warm up since I knew I would be behind slower swimmers because I registered the day of the event.

Was going to go very easy on the swim because I registered day of the race so put at the end of the line but there were several people behind me. 1st turn guy behind me I guess thought I was a much slower swimmer and swam right over top of me. So I just fell in behind him and followed the wake of destruction he left. Sort of felt sorry for those who had registered slow times and were getting creamed.
What would you do differently?:

Register early and get time in so I would be with comparable swimmers

Tough ride first 5 miles tough rollers had to climb on every uphill, right turn and 5 mile climb very little down hill, down hill last .8
What would you do differently?:

I always say lose weight but I thought I did much better climbing, but still lose weight

Felt blownup after the bike climbfest but settled into a pretty good pace for me. actually passed another Master Clydesdale, I do not ever remember passing someone I was racing on the run. In fact I really do not ever remember passing anyone on the run period

Nice race even the mayor of Warrenton participated on a team. Hope this race continues nice little race. Of course placing for the 1st time ever helped
