Swim
Comments: I swam the course 2 weeks earlier and did it in 17 min. It may have been a combination of colder water, wind, chop, turkey in the tummy and season cold that made the swim uncomfortable. I just couldn't find my stroke. What would you do differently?: nothing I could have I think, just the way it was Transition 1
Comments: long run up to T1, numb feet made for a difficult T1 What would you do differently?: not race when its 50 degrees! Bike
Comments: very hilly course. There was a patch of road the county had just stripped a week or so ago that was unpleasant to ride over. Cold, but I had a race jacket, but the bare feet int he tri shoes were numb. What would you do differently?: wear socks on the bike and swim Transition 2
Comments: had to pee so bad on the bike. Never had to pee that bad in a race before. At dismount I had to hit the port o let for 45 sec. Nice spectator had my bike ready for me to grab on the way out. Thanks dude! What would you do differently?: not drink so much pre race? Run
Comments: kept jacket on for run...definitely needed it. Cold morning. Got a little blister on the arch of my right foot. What would you do differently?: Wear socks on such a cold morning Post race
Warm down: banana, water and pack up What limited your ability to perform faster: being sick, post tgiving eating habits, cold weather Event comments: Great organizers and lots of volunteers. The swim course is nice but the bike course is very hilly with lots of turns, and a bit monotonous with the dual loops of mentioned hills and turns. If I would have known the temperature and affects on me I would have passed on this one. Again, not because of the location or organizers, just how cold the weather was. Numbing. It was good in that it made me re-think the olympic I was going to do in March. Last updated: 2010-09-21 12:00 AM
