Run
Comments: Started out a bit slow, picked it up toward the end of mile 1. Followed JT for about a mile until he pulled over. Stumbled over a rock and fell about mile 3. A few minor scrapes was all. Got back up and kept going without losing any real time. I had my new friend Don just behind me for about 11 miles, until he passed at about mile 13. Took in a couple servings of Hammer Gel right before I crossed the dam. Ran a bit slower in the 11-13 mile area because of all the roots and poor lighting - and I crashed in that area a couple years back. Passed a couple people on the hill up to the finish. Good race. My fastest time on this course by about 4 minutes. What would you do differently?: Maybe take it out a bit stronger in the early miles instead of following people. Post race
Warm down: Had a few cups of water and some post race food. Chatted with Don and a few other people. What limited your ability to perform faster: Logging a high mileage week before the race and no taper. Event comments: Good long low key trail race. Last updated: 2010-09-22 12:00 AM
