Pre-race routine:

Got everything ready only to learn swim was cancelled, so it was back into transition to get everything changed around.
Event warmup:

stood in line to start running after waiting around 2 hours to start race after transition closed
Swim
  • 00m
  • 750 meters
  • / 100 meters
Comments:

Swim got cancelled due to e coli outbreak from multiple days of rain
Transition 1
  • 03m 26s
Comments:

A lot of running in this transition. Was 200 yards from starting line to transition area, another 25 yards to bike, and then 75 yards to bike mount line. Ran all of it
What would you do differently?:

Probably arrange transition to have more stuff out of the way. if i could run faster in bare feet, id have been able to get a shorter time
Bike
  • 28m 49s
  • 10 miles
  • 20.82 mile/hr
Comments:

This was a strong bike for me, easily a sprint race PR. The course felt short, but I think it wasn't off by too much. I feel confident that my 20 MPH average was legitmate as there was a bit of a tailwind on the way out, and a headwind on the way back.
What would you do differently?:

Train harder for this type of TT style ride. More gutty riding will get higher results in this kind of race
Transition 2
  • 03m 16s
Comments:

Still gotta get these times down, even though it was a lot of running in transition. I had my running shoes on already
Run
  • 42m 39s
  • 3 miles
  • 14m 13s  min/mile
Comments:

After a long season of triathlons, my running has improved ever so slightly. I didnt work on it the way i should have this year and it nearly cost me at Timberman. Thankfully, I gained a little in the last month of the season and I wound up setting a PR for a 3 mile in a triathlon. Yes I am that bad of a runner that I need 2 caveats to that PR. LOL
What would you do differently?:

Would have worked harder to incorporate run training into my workouts.
Post race
Warm down:

walked around a bit and looked for sister in law

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need to work on my running. If I could have 10 min/mi paced that thing I would have finished half way up the division and gotten us some more club points.

Event comments:

For a race that hosted 2 different national championships, it had no where near a big enough expo, the food was terrible, the volunteers were confused on the race course. They picked a great venue but the swimming venue didnt work out at all, so may need to choose a different location.
