Didn't want to break out too fast but may have left a little too much in the tank for the rest of the race.

The hill was brutal in the run. 1/4" uphill that peaked at a 20° grade.
What would you do differently?:

Push a little harder.

Threw my bike shoe which added a few seconds but other than that, went smooth.
What would you do differently?:

Not happy about having to stop and put my shoes on and then get on the bike slowly. Need to work on that transition.

Really started to fade at the end which killed my time. Was riding with a women the entire race (back and forth) and she took off the last 2 miles or so.
What would you do differently?:

Not break out so fast.
Spend more time in the aerobars.

I thought my transition was fairly smooth with this. There wasn't a whole lot to do and I only had about 10' to my rack point so that was good.

This run hurt...a lot. The hill was completely retarded. I felt like I could have walked faster but I told myself no walking...just go.
What would you do differently?:

Push harder once to the top of the hill. I forgot how much was downhill after that. Could have cut some time off with that and just gone harder at the end.

First run could have gone a bit harder and my first transition was a little rough.

Event comments:

It's so low key that the awards ceremony started an hour later...annoying but not bad.

I liked it being so low key for my first event, will do again next year.
