Swim
Comments: Not sure what the hell my problem was? I felt panicky for the first 10-15 minutes of the swim before I finally settled down. After that my navigation was poor. I guess I didn't really understand how strong the current really was. It was at least 100 yards past the swim exit and still 100 yards out. My poor navigation cost me big on this one. I'm guessing 10 minutes. The swim was supposed to be my strength, I was top third at Ironman. DAMMIT!!! What would you do differently?: Relax dummy. Transition 1
Comments: What, a 12 minute transition? Yup, that is because you also need to get up the beach, strip your suit without help, find your bag in the transition, put on your shoes, pack your transition bag, run a half mile to your bike, find your bike, change your shoes, grab your bike and go. Not complaining because it's the same for everyone, just explaining this seemingly ridiculous time :) What would you do differently?: Notta, this went very well and I ran the entire time. Bike
Comments: I was SO happy with my performance on this course. I powered past some skinny folks on some uphills and was able to corner and brake really well. Tough course but I nailed it. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: Went good, a little slow because I made sure my feet were totally clean so no blisters would pop up but found everything and got on my horse right away. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: I felt really good about my run until I checked the results. I know I'm a poor runner but THAT bad. Meh, I like what I did anyway. At the end I pushed the last 2 miles and had gas left in the tank so I know I could have gone harder, lesson learned I suppose but I had to walk the entire mile that was on the beach. What would you do differently?: Push it real good!!! Post race
Warm down: Free massage anyone? Hell Yeah What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of confidence. Event comments: Body marking was almost non existent. I was surprised that a race with 30 years experience would be shocked that body marking was a neccessity. Everything else was great though. Last updated: 2010-09-25 12:00 AM

Long wait because you get transition set up and then get on buses over to the dock. Once at the dock you get body marked and get your timing strap. Then you load on to the boat and wait for almost 2000 people to get on board. Then you need to sail out to the start spot. It's a long wait but SO worth it.
