Comments: I probably started out too fast because I was really struggling at the end but I still managed to get close to my avg 250 yd time. Not sure exactly how many seconds it took me to get to the T1 start. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. I guess I need to get comfortable doing flip turns to shave off some seconds. Transition 1
Comments: This was my first transition ever. What would you do differently?: I'm sure I could've been faster but I didn't want to forget anything this first time. Put Powerade into a bottle without a screw cap. Bike
Comments: I rode my hard core mountain bike, which never felt so heavy when I was training near my house. But it was like dragging an extra 40-50 pounds around with me. I had no idea what I was doing out there. What would you do differently?: Get a lighter bike Transition 2
Comments: Really close to the bike start/finish. Much longer distance from run start. What would you do differently?: Take less time to drink, especially for such a short run. Tie hair up on the run. Run
Comments: I felt tired on the run but my pace was above average. The finish snuck up on me - I actually had energy to spare and wish I would've put it to use. What would you do differently?: Study the course more diligently so I can plan where to start my kick. Post race
Warm down: Just wandering around and playing with my daughter. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just not knowing enough about what I was doing. Event comments: I loved the atmosphere and the 'you-can-do-it' attitude everyone had and I mean EVERYONE! I will definitely do this one again next year, maybe even another in the series. Only next time, with a different bike! Last updated: 2010-09-28 12:00 AM

Got up at 5:30, left around 6:10, got dropped off at the race site about 6:40. This was my first tri so I really didn't know what I was doing but I already had my packet and I happened upon a bodymarker as soon as I got there. I found my transition spot and got my chip and then got all set up: tried to take up as little space as possible but it turned out only 3 of the 5 people assigned to our rack showed up.
Went for a short jog around the local roads, did a lot of stretching and ate a banana.
