Run
Comments: This wasn't a race per se, but basically a moderately hard tempo pace run. I was at the State Fair for 6 hours last night with a bike ride in the morning. Basically I wanted to do the event and use it a a supported training run. In addition, I had the family out there for the 5k and Fun Run so I didn't try and get into "race mode." I even stopped at one point on the course where it overlapped with my family's 5k to high five, chat, etc. What would you do differently?: Nothing really with my pre-race goals in mind. Post race
Warm down: Not much of one as I had to go to the infield where my son was participating in the Fun Run activities. Didn't even really get to stretch at the race site (had to wait until we got home). Event comments: Very good race setup for just a 12k/5k. Great location, bands along the course, cheerleaders at the finish, plenty of water - good deal for $30 plus tech tee. Supports a good cause and always great to get a chance to take the field at the home of the 2010 Baseball National Champions. Go Cocks!! Last updated: 2010-10-01 12:00 AM

Same as always: PBJ, coffee, and plenty o' trips to the head. Of course, the hard part was getting the family up and ready and on the road by 6:30. Not really a chance to really focus on this as being a race. That's fine, of course, given my goals for the race.
.75 mile jog with brother-in-law with a few pickups thrown in.
