Pre-race routine:

Ran about 1/2 mile and light stretches.
Run
  • 20m 5s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 06m 29s  min/mile
Comments:

Had a nice pace. Probably started a bit too slow. Ended up tracking people down at the end and passed a several people in the neighborhood.
Transition 1
  • 00m 47s
Comments:

Thought I put two shoes on and was ready to go when i discovered I had one more bike shoe to put on.
Bike
  • 58m 39s
  • 18 miles
  • 18.41 mile/hr
Comments:

The bike ended up being the thing that caused me to drop the most in rankings which makes sense giving the time on the bike and the fact that I have been running and swimming more than on the bike.
Transition 2
  • 00m 36s
Comments:

Nice transition. Just had to take off arm-warmers.
Run
  • 22m 51s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 22s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt pretty good. I think I pretty much gave all I could. It really is a windy course and so it is hard to go fast.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked a bit, and re-hydrated.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think my bike could be improved. The long hill really slowed me down.

Event comments:

It is a nice race and really friendly and fun to do. The food after the race was good. The awards ceremony was very anti-climactic and they only give the winners of the age group (10 year spread).

Course: Circuit with one longish hill. Really pretty route that gets pretty fast once you hit the summit and then stays steady on good pavement. The course has hills but is very well suited for TT bike and if you have it, go with a disk because winds haven't been an issue for the past two years.

Course: Cross country course. It really winds around and can be a bit dark in the woods but I really enjoyed it. There are two laps and then you finish by running about 300 Yards on the track. I found the course well marked and had a good bunch of volunteers. There is one aid station.
