Comments: I felt a little out of sorts for the first mile or so of the race but it improved later in the run. Maintained a 7:15 pace for the first mile and held on to sub 7:30 for the second. The third mile has a big hill that hurt. I made it up without falling apart completely but felt rough at the top. What would you do differently?: Knowing that I hit my previous PR exactly - to the second - I'd push a little harder earlier in the race. I didn't have anything left at the end but it's possible I could have pushed it a bit more early on without falling apart. Post race
Warm down: Walked it off for a couple minutes then did some light stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just my heart trying to pound out of my chest. Event comments: The WMU Campus Classic is a fun race. It has a large number of participants and the after-race food is good. Woke up a little less than two hours before the race and had a cup of coffee and some water.
