Swim
Comments: This went great! I started right away with the group and had NO issues. Everyone swam nice and straight and no mouthfuls of water. I really tired to turn on the jets and do my best and it worked! Wow. Transition 1
Comments: I knew this would be slow. I just didn't find my hustle once at my spot. Can't say why. What would you do differently?: Focus more, I think I daydreamed a little. Maybe too excited about my swim? Bike
Comments: This was a good ride for me for this year. I just don't have any power on the hills, I would need to work on that more than I am. This course was great with very few challenging hills. The wind seemed to come from the East, which was good because the leg into the wind was the shortest of the route. There were a fair number of bunches of people riding together. In addition to that they were drafting (against rules) they were getting in my way, which is what really annoyed me. Transition 2
Comments: This was pretty bad! I came down the row on the other side of the rack from the way I'd set up my stuff. After a few seconds of confusion, I realized I just needed to go under the rack. I didn't have any problem with my new Kinvaras with the Yankz, so happy about that! Run
Comments: This was great! I was hoping for 27 or not much over, so I am happy. I did start to get overheated (fuzzy in the head feeling) but reeled it back just enough to get back to a comfortable pace. I did walk a tiny bit to get water and one other short hill towards the end - oh well. In general I am thrilled with my ability to achieve this pace. Love sprint runs! Post race
Warm down: Walked around, got food, talked to the guys. The wind had picked up so I eventually changed into dry clothes and watched the awards ceremony to cheer on my fast friends. Event comments: I would absolutely do this one again. The location is great. I liked the swim course, although I know in past years it has been wavy and difficult. The bike was good, I just need to work on biking more. The run course is GREAT. Flat and a good lot of shady stretches. My kind of run! Last updated: 2010-10-04 12:00 AM

Tri Minnesota Triathlon Racing Series
70F / 21C
Overcast
Overall Rank = 69/175
Age Group = F30-34
Age Group Rank = 13/26
(overall is female only, which is what I usually use - although this was my best overall rank in a race maybe ever at 250/438)
Usually stuff, bagel, coffee, etc. This race was very close to home so even though it was earlier than my other races, I was able to leave at the same time. Nice! Super easy to get a parking spot and walk a ways to the race area.
I met up with Dan, Jared, Bryan and Eric by the swim start. Sadly no other BTers showed up. I was so grateful to see my friends; hanging out before and after the race really makes an event better.
I swam just a little bit to get the suit and goggles situated.
