Swim
Comments: Pretty good overall swim for me. Very little contact. I started out really slow. I had a little trouble with water in my goggles. I stopped for a few seconds to empty the water and readjust the goggles and moved on. I didn't speed up until I was within about 50 meters of the red buoy. Then I swam pretty hard until my hands touched bottom. What would you do differently?: Pick up my pace earlier. I had plenty left when I got out of the water. Transition 1
Comments: I didn't realize that I had done this poorly on this transition until I saw my time. Looking back I realize that I didn't have alot of trouble with any one part of the transition. What hhappened is, I had a little trouble with every part of the transition. I had a little trouble finding my bike. I had a little trouble with my suit. I had a little trouble with my shoes, and a little trouble with being blocked near the mounting line. What would you do differently?: I just have to polish and practice this transition more. Maybe a brighter towel near my bike. Study the path from swim-in to my bike better and use more Body Glide. Bike
Comments: I must have gone pretty hard because my quads were aching when I got off the bike and all during the run. What would you do differently?: I think i need to train harder for shorter distance on the bike. I am going to do more interval and tempo training for my next race. Transition 2
Comments: I'm not really unhappy with the transition. As I remember everything went pretty smooth. I can probably use more practice to shave some tme off of this transition. What would you do differently?: More practice, I spent very little time practicing my transitions. Run
Comments: I was a bit disappointed with my run. I had to stop and walk a few times like up and over the bridge. I probably could have run a little faster although my quads were screaming at times. I ran pretty hard from th top of the bridge all the way to the finish line. I felt like I still had more left when I crossed. What would you do differently?: I could grit my teeth run and run a little harder. Post race
Warm down: Walking a little stretching and alot of laying on the grass. What limited your ability to perform faster: I have to do more speed, interval and tempo training, more full bricks and practice transitions. I did alot of training but almost all of it was endurance training. Event comments: I am happy that I finished. I'll be back next year! The Toyota Desert Sprint is next. 2 weeks rest then I'll start training for the sprint Lake Cahuilla in March. Last updated: 2010-10-05 12:00 AM

Up at 4:45am, ate a muffin then down the freeway. Arrived early and set up my transition space.
Did some stretching, light calisthenics, some walking and then I swam for a few minutes.
