Comments: I had 5 gels and drank Cytomax at every water station. I walked while drinking then resumed running. My goal time was sub-4 hours. I set Garmin to keep my pace at 9 min/mi for 10 miles, then 8:50 for 10 miles, then go by feel for final 10K. Physically, I really did not feel the pain in my legs until mile 22 or so. Mentally, I was strong throughout race. I am very happy with my final 6.2 miles. What would you do differently?: Next marathon, I am going set my pace at 8:50 for first 10, then 8:40 for next 10, then by feel for the finish. Post race
Warm down: I was barely able to walk after finish line. My warm down was walking to meet up spot and sitting down. What limited your ability to perform faster: I need more miles. My training plan maxed at 45 mpw with an average of 35 mpw. Event comments: No more races in Vegas. Very difficult to stay off your feet the day before race! Last updated: 2010-10-08 12:00 AM

Woke up at 0530, drank a 2 scoop Perpetuem/16 oz water mix. Took a shower and got dressed for race. Left hotel at 0600 to walk to start line approx. 1.3 miles away.
I walked to start, about 1.3 miles.
