Pre-race routine:

Got up about at about 6 am. Straight for the coffee. I was not really hungry, but forced myself to eat some peanut butter toast and a protein shake. Got dressed, and waited for my ride to show up.

Other than jumping around in my corral, no warmup.

Comments:

Pretty happy with my run. There were several areas that had black ice patches. Due to this, I did have to slow down more than once in order to navigate them. I also slipped on one and almost bit the dust. I do think that slowed me down overall. I did PR by over 3 minutes!
What would you do differently?:

I wore a long sleeve shirt with a short sleeved one over it. I got hot pretty quickly. Next time I would make sure to not over dress. I also had my headphones coming up the back of my shirt. It kept pulling the ear buds out of my ears. The whole race, I was having to pull them back up and put them back in. It was very annoying.
Post race
Warm down:

Dropped most of my stuff off inside the field house where the finish line was and went back outside for a cool down mile.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Ice and mud patches, mostly the ice ones.

Event comments:

The only thing negative I have to say about this race is that the way they had everyone coming in to park was all messed up. It took forever for us to get off the main road into the parking lot. We were in line a good 40 minutes until finally parked.
