Pre-race routine:

Ate some oatmeal and stretched before calling a cab.
Event warmup:

My cab never showed up and thankfully, at 7 (start time for the race) another cab stopped to pick me up. We dropped off his original passenger and then he got me as close to the start as he could. I ran from the cab to the starting line and got there as the wave in front of mine was starting.

Comments:

I was worried about running initially because my knee was bothering me. It felt fine once I got going. My plan was to maintain an 11 minute mile pace. I was slightly ahead of that for the first 10 miles of the race. I hit the wall around mile 11 and the last two miles were tough. I pushed through with a run/walk combination, walking more than I would have liked.
What would you do differently?:

Train more consistently. I had a hard time making time to run during the week so I was only doing my long runs on the weekend and missed a few weeks. My knee started bothering me two weeks ago, so I took some time off until the race. My longest training run was 8 miles and I think that if I had done my 9 and 10 mile runs, I would have been able to push through the last two miles better.

Warm down:

Walked around and then found a cab to head home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training.

Event comments:

Great race, one of the better ones that I've done in Philly.
