Pre-race routine:

slept like crap. Got out of bed at 5am. Changed, had a vitaminB, water and half of a power bar. Left home at 5.15 got to the event and found the starting line where I had to put on the timing chip. Found my team mates and we just stretched and talked about strategy.
Event warmup:

Not alot, by the time we all found each other time ran out. The walk to the starting line was about 10min, so that was kind of our warm up.

Comments:

whewwww, it was tough. Thank goodness we were team 7 because we got to start in the front before the mud got even worse. Sticking together as a team was the best idea we had, we needed each other to get thru it. The amount of mud is outragous and you wouldn`t believe it unless you saw it. It did smell quite alot also. The were also Marines yelling at us every time they could to move our sorry asses, plus machine guns shooting around us to try and scare us.
What would you do differently?:

Duct tape my boots so stones don`t get in. Drink more because I have a headache this afternoon. Train more in wet and muddy cammies and boots.
Post race
Warm down:

under the fire truck hose to wash off.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

mud, rocks and not being used to military training.

Event comments:

the Marine Corps kicks butt with their races. This was just so much fun. The only thing I would say was that they needed to start the awards ceremony much earlier. We waited over an hour and a half for them. But, no problem especially when me and my team got our medals!!!Yes, I got a medal!

Performance: Good
Course: Mud Mud and more mud. We did have to swim at one stage under a bridge. Some times the mud was so think we got down and crawled like crocadiles. There were obstical things to get thru, under, over, ropes to jump over and rocks under the water that you didn`t know were there.
