Run
Comments: FIRST PLACE IN AGE GROUP!!! I was really pleased with this run. Went out perhaps a touch fast. Could have probably gone out at about 7:30 and kept all sectors under 8 minute pace. What would you do differently?: Wear hat differently. Had a fairly stiff headwind in mile 2 that slowed us down a bit. Wind blew hat off, so I lost a little time going back and picking it up. Probably cost me 10-15 seconds. UGH. Manage pace a little better. Probably could have finished stronger had I kept pace around 7:45 steadily rather than going WAY fast, and then draining the tank a bit in mile 2. Mile two, stiff headwind definately affected pace a bunch. Because I was pushing as hard as I was in Mile 1 and 2 in an attempt to hold pace, I didn't have as much gas to finish strong in mile 3. Post race
Warm down: Walked it off for 10 minutes or so, then decided to do a VERY slow run down of about a mile and a half while waiting to get our HARDWARE! Ran about 1.3 miles. What limited your ability to perform faster: Wind in Mile 2, Loss of hat, a little tightness in the quads Event comments: Biggest complaint about this race was that the course was only 2.89 miles vs. 3.11 miles as it should have been. Understand the reasons why it came up short, but still a little frustrating. Hopefully, they can adjust appropriately next year and get the distance right. Race was a lot of fun, and it supports an excellent cause Last updated: 2010-10-23 12:00 AM

Got up about 6, got dressed and tried to stay relaxed until Ben and Scott picked me up.
Drove about 15 or so miles to the event site, and headed to the registration area. So nothing special.
Walk 1/4 mile or so from car to registration tent. Walk back to car to stash goodie bag, Slow jog from car to starting line
