Run
Comments: I wanted to start easy and build pace and try and negative split the run. I really didn't know the course but had an idea since I work right by the course. I knew it would be hilly but man! Started up front and had about 20 people take off a head of me. Some of them I knew would lay down some fast times. I was really wanted to run 6:30 minute miles the whole race. I was pretty close. I did neg split the run but don't have my garmin today. At mile 3 I was 20:13, not 3.1. Held it easy the first 2 miles and then began to pick it up on the down hills. WIth in the next mile I picked off 3 people. Then the hills on the front side. Got to mile 4 and had 2 others to catch, I did, then the last mile I caught 2 guys and went by but they responded on the last uphill to the finish and they beat me. I gave it all I had so I am pleased. Since I had a 112 mile bike and 4 mile brick the day before, my legs had no power on the uphills. THe downhills were great and I caught a lot of runners on them. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Fatigue in the legs. Event comments: Good race held by my school district to raise money for our schools. Double the size since last year and I am glad they brought the 10k back. Last updated: 2010-10-24 12:00 AM
