Run
Comments: This was an absolutely awesome race!!! It's like all of the stars were aligned. My nutrition was perfect, my hydration was perfect. Going in I didn't think there was any way I could maintain anything faster than 9:45s. Even during the race I kept waiting to crash, but I just felt better and better as the run went on. Mile 13 was 8:40! What would you do differently?: Not a thing, Post race
Warm down: I walked back to my car and had some water and chocolate milk. Then I changed clothes and went back to the finish line to wait for 2 friends who were walking. Then- the best part- we went to Maxine's Chicken and Waffles. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing! Event comments: I feel really fit and ready to start HIM training. I still can't believe I beat my best time by 7 minutes! Last updated: 2010-10-24 12:00 AM

Got up at 5:00am so I could eat 3 hours before the race. Had a bowl of steel cuts with peanut butter and 1/2 banana. Then I got online to review my last few 1/2 marys to confirm the time I needed to finish with a pb. I knew I really wanted to run in under 2 hours, but my best time to date was 2:06 and I wasn't feeling overly confident. Obviously, I was underestimating myself. I left to head downtown at 6:30. I always like to get to a race early. Drank 5 hour energy about an hour before race time.
Jogged a slow mile near the start line. Then I had a good, long stretch. I've had some real problems with my foot due to really tight calves. Succesfully went to the bathroom after my warm up. This is always a good thing.
