Pre-race routine:

Up at 3:30 - oatmeal for breakfast then drove to meet Trish and Ken. Got to VB at about 6:15. Went up to Priscilla's hotel room to use bathroom and get warm. Very cold and windy (20 mph).
Event warmup:

None - tried to keep moving to stay warm. Had to go to bathroom again right before start. Got out of the Porta John just as race started.

What would you do differently?:

Although I was cool most of race, I would wear one less layer than I did. Instead of two LS shirts and vest, I should have worn 1 SS and 1 LS and vest.
Post race
Warm down:

Had E-gel and water right after finish. Went back to car and changed into warm clothes. Stretched some in car. Drank Endurox and had PB and banana sandwich. Stopped at Starbucks on way home. Got home and was exhausted. Layed down for awhile, then showered and took some Motrin. Rode stationary bike for 3 minutes and then stretched.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Probably went out a little too fast. Couldn't keep up pace at the end. Getting passed alot instead of passing others. Don't feel I could have run faster though. Last three miles was very tough - worse than rock and roll last year.

Event comments:

Wind took alot out of me both mentally and physically. Even though had a tailwind for last half, couldn't make up what I lost during first half. Should have had more water too. Feet got numb around mile 8 and felt like blocks of ice.
