Pre-race routine:

Hubby dropped us off right near the starting line. We scoped out the portapotties and paid them a visit. Lines were long. I helped my friend find her corral and stayed to give her some last minute encouragement on her first half. Then I heard the announcement and headed toward my corral. It was perfect timing.

Comments:

My goal for this race was a 2:30 finish. I'd even signed up for the pace group, but left my bib in the car. But about the 6 mile point, I noticed the 2:15 pace group coming up BEHIND ME!!!!! It was at that point I realized I could actually HANG with that group. I ended up finishing with them. PR FOR ME!!! WOOOT!!!!
What would you do differently?:

Train more consistently.

Warm down:

Walked around the park looking for my family. Stretched.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Neuroma in R foot started bothering me about mile 6, as did my left knee

Event comments:

The goodie bag they claimed was "the ultimate" was basically average. The shirt was nice, but started falling apart after the first wash. I was a bit disappointed in that, but overall this was a wonderful race. If I do another half, this one will definitely be on the list.
