Run
Comments: Started out with Dom and John. Lost Dom in the first 0.25 mile, but stayed with John for ~2 miles - leap frogged with him until about mile 5. Probably went out a little too fast, but didn't feel too bad in the beginning. Got up Religion Hill without walking. Did gel right before the water stop at ~mile 5.25. After that stomach didn't feel quite right. Got passed by a bunch of people on the downhills! I don't think I passed a single person in that section (~mile 5-9). Susan and Bryce were at the turn onto Caton Rd and gave me a much appreciated little bottle of water. Started to feel better after that and started passing back most of those people who passed me on the downhills. Felt good over the last few miles (I assume that was from all the marathon training miles.) What would you do differently?: Carry water so I could take my gel right in the middle. Post race
Warm down: Walked inside; drank some water; got some chicken broth - I did eat some pizza and a few smidgens, but didn't really feel like eating much else. What limited your ability to perform faster: Running a marathon a month before. This was not my slowest time on this course, but was about 5 minutes off my fastest times here. Event comments: I said yes to plenty of drink stations because 4 is really enough, but I think they could be spaced differently. It's a LONG way from the one just past the big hill to the one down on Caton Rd (~mile 9.25). Last updated: 2010-11-10 12:00 AM

Odd start time (1pm on the day the time changes); Had regular cereal/banana for breakfast early, then bagel/PB/banana in car on the way to Dom's (~11am)
Registered, talked to a bunch of people, no real warm-up other than walking out to the start line; Ate a pack of sports beans about 20 minutes before the start
