Comments:

By far this is my favorite bike course ever. It is rolling but it is also fast. It is challenging but not too hard. It exits transition and takes a right onto Blue Ridge Road. The course was a slight uphill until we crossed over White Horse Road and then flattened out for awhile until continuing on a slight uphill that was hardly noticeable. After a right turn onto Old Easley Highway the course went downhill and then immediately went on a very short uphill. After the uphill was a very long and very fast downhill that lasted for a mile until a short uphill and another right turn onto Fish Trap Road where the gradual uphill continued for awhile. The course was all downhill on Old Saluda Dam Road and Old Vinland School Road. Then there was a right turn onto Saluda View Road that went uphill for awhile before continuing a long downhill. After this was a very sharp right turn on a curvy part of the road which was followed by a steep uphill and a right turn on Farrs Bridge Road. Farrs Bridge Road went downhill for a 1/2 mile and then went gradually uphill until a right turn onto some small roads which we rolling grades that were not too bad. After turning onto Parker Road there was some rough pavement and a gradual uphill and is was downhill to the finish with a steep uphill to finish at the very end.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Great bike.
Transition 2
  • 00m 42s
Comments:

Forgot my race belt and accidentally left transition and then returned to transition to get it to avoid a 2 minute penalty. This cost me a sub 23 minute 5k.
What would you do differently?:

Get my race belt.
Run
  • 23m 17s
  • 3.11 miles

Comments:

This course suited me very well. The course started off flat and downhill around the parking lot at the event site. After that we took a right onto a dirt trail that was about 10 feet wide and had a bunch of holes. The dirt road actually was to my advantage. After a short section on dirt we did a very basic 1/2 mile loop that was pretty flat and then got back on the dirt road to do lap 2.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

None.

Event comments:

This was my favorite triathlon ever. The course was perfect and suited my strengths perfectly and loved every minute of this race.
