Run
Comments: Same old fun, but hilly course. Was determined to attempt a PR, but wasn't feeling so hot. Still the first mile rattled off at 7:40. Pretty fast for me, and I knew I wouldn't be able to sustain it. I never really felt good, but you're not supposed to in a 5K, right? Crossed the line at 25:02. A new PR! Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Still too many pounds . . . and maybe only one day off in the last 3 weeks? Event comments: This is a fun, well organized little local race. 3rd year in a row for me. Last updated: 2010-11-12 12:00 AM

Picked up the kids from the Cub Scout lock in, and headed to the lake.
Parked the car and asked the kids if they'd rather stay in the car playing their DS's, or head over to the start and play on the playground. They chose the car. So I went for a warm-up lap around the block.
Halfway around, I hear a car alarm in the distance. It shuts off a few seconds later.
Then as I'm rounding the final turn, I hear it again, and I suspect I know which is the offending vehicle.
I get to the car and see the kids had climbed the front seat in an effort to disable the alarm. I unlock the doors and the alarm shuts off. Ask Jack what the heck is going on, and he says, "I've got to go... BAD!"
So they ran with me to the start, where the pota potties were.
