Swim
Comments: Felt a bit panicked at the start. Had to calm myself down and concentrate on my stroke. I sited well to the first and second buoys. However, on the way back in I got off track, quickly! I was way off which panicked me again! Got back on track and finished a little disappointed in drifting off course. What would you do differently?: Site better. The way was finally clear and I took twenty or so strokes, concentrating on form and gliding so i moved quickly...the wrong way! Very shakey after the swim. Couldn't get my wetsuit off. Transition 1
Comments: Way too shakey after the swim...got really dizzy and felt extremely light headed. I was really anxious at the start but had to focus on settling down. What would you do differently?: Practice Transtion more. Bike
Comments: The day before, as we drove the route, I was terrified! Those hills looked huge. Not too bad on the ride. Yes, I am slow but I felt okay. Same thing happened, as in my Iron Girl last summer, I pass people on the downhill and they pass me on the uphills. Shifting was great though don't think I ever had problems on this route with my shifting. What would you do differently?: I have worked a little on hills but see I need to learn how to work better on hills. My new shoes made for more effienct riding and helped...just gonna require more practice. Transition 2
Comments: Came in dead last in this area! Whats worse is that it was by minutes! What would you do differently?: Didn't seem that I took that long. At this point I just need to practice my transitions. Run
Comments: Leg cramps at the beginning, maybe first 2 tenths. After a bit I had a good pace and felt comfortable. I stopped once to tie my shoes, walked a couple of times up the first hill. Then felt pretty good the rest of the run. Let gravity do its part on the downhills and finished strong. My daughter said I actually look like a runner now. So getting there. What would you do differently?: Stretch more. Post race
Warm down: Walked around to cool down. Ate whateve they had to offer. What limited your ability to perform faster: Transition transition transition...practice more! Event comments: This was a good race. For me it was a challenge, especially the bike with the hills. Last updated: 2010-11-13 12:00 AM

Ran a bit to warm up, then swam a bit in the water. Spent the day before in San Fransico walking.
