Pre-race routine:

Had breakfast, figured out how to fasten my Camelbak to my racing chair (not too successful there).
Event warmup:

Pushed around the parking lot a couple of times.

Comments:

There was one other wheelchair competitor - a friend who has always come in ahead of me in the past. We were together for a couple hundred yards, and then I passed him and never saw him again, which really surprised me. I pushed hard the whole way and really kept the heat on, which also surprised me (I was theoretically using this as a training run). I was amazed when I saw the clock at the finish line.
What would you do differently?:

Come up with a better water arrangement - as a wheelchair racer, I wear gloves that don't allow me to grip anything, so it's very hard for me to get water from the water stations. I had a Camelbak secured to the chair, but the tube wasn't long enough for me to reach it without hands.
Post race
Warm down:

None. Hung around and waited for friends to come in.

Event comments:

It would have been nice if there had been wheelchair division awards, since everything else seemed to merit an award.
