Run
Comments: 1st half felt great and was at 1:58. The second half felt good until about 18 when we turned straight into a 20 mph headwind. Calves started to cramp a bit and I started to slow down. Hit the wall hard around 21 and had to walk a bit. What would you do differently?: Slow pace down a bit. I managed to push the wall back from normal 18 to 21 but I think if I had slowed pace just a bit more I might have made it through race and shaved at least 5-10 minutes off. Post race
Warm down: Layed down on the stadium field at 30 Yard line. Calves and knees were hurting more than normal. Took a good 15 minutes til I could manage to walk up the stadium steps comfortably to get some food. Felt much better after I ate something. What limited your ability to perform faster: bonking at 21. Need to work harder at pushing that out. Thinking I should have pushed it harder on my long runs. Event comments: Race organizers did a great job. Missed a couple of mile marker splits due to poor placement but other than that they did a great job. Last updated: 2010-11-20 12:00 AM
