Run
Comments: I expected a fast paced and kept up with one of my students for about 1 1/2 miles. My music pace was, "Hawaii 5-O" theme song. The tempo of the music got slower during the last part of the race. What would you do differently?: Nothing, although I need to start pushing myself a little faster during interval runs. Post race
Warm down: I did an FT cool-down while waiting for the results. What limited your ability to perform faster: I think I need to do fast interval runs before racing. Also, for some reason, I never did get into the "flow" experience. Event comments: Because of the orchestra challenge, I enjoyed interacting with the students. Last updated: 2010-11-21 12:00 AM

Woke-up at 5:30 (for some reason). Ate oatmeal, hard-boiled egg, 3 cups of coffee, and a vitamin. At 7:00 started doing laundry and walked a little. Moved around the apartment. By 8:00 started doing warm-ups I saw on hulu.com. I did arm warm-ups for the first time (and it really helped).
After arm warm-ups and (getting the laundry), I jogged slowly outside my apartment for about 5 minutes. I went inside and did stretching exercises--my usually FT stretches, hip movements, and other stretches from hulu.com. Drove to campus around 8:30 and met up Heather. Then jogged and walked around the track before the race. I greeted the friends and students that I saw. Had a bottle of water fo sipping and ate a gel right before running.
